Gorgonzola, Pears & Walnuts Salad

Gorgonzola, Pere & Noci : a classic of Italian cuisine!

Gorgonzola is a very ancient cheese, some say that Gorgonzola would have been made for the first time, in the town of the same name near Milan, in the year of 879. According to others, it would have been first made near Lake of Como, where the presence of excellent natural caves, with constant temperature between 6 ° C and 12 ° C allowed the perfect success of the Gorgonzola, as well as various other cheeses.

The city Gorgonzola, although remained the center of greater fame and production for centuries.

A very simple and quick recipe, enhancing the creamy blue flavor of Gorgonzola in the classical way.


INGREDIENTS: Serves 2


  • 150g Mesclun Salad

  • 35 g Walnuts

  • Approx. 100g of ViaVio Gorgonzola

  • 1 pear

  • Extra virgin olive oil

  • Salt and pepper



STEPS:

Peel pear, cut in half and remove the core, then cut in thin slices.

On a plate place the salad leaves, next place the pears, the walnuts, and last the gorgonzola cheese chopped in small cubes.

Season with salt, pepper and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.

Choose a nice full bodied red wine, and Buon Appettito!
