Stuffed Mozzarella Roll

Surprise your guests with Mozzarella rolls and a pinch ofcreativity!

The word Mozzarella usually brings to our mind a delicious creamy pizza topping or a caprese salad with fresh basil and tomatoes. But did you know that there are many different types of Mozzarella? Bocconcini, Perline, Braid, Burrata, Stracciatella, Scamorza, these are only some of the different mozzarella cheese types. Each one as its own flavor and use in the Italian cooking tradition.

The Mozzarella Sheet is another type of Mozzarella, as per it name it comes in a sheet shape. It is perfect for making colorful and simple appetizer, a good gluten free option too.

This recipe is very easy and you can use any filling you wish. Here we are using Parma ham and rocket but pesto, tuna, tomatoes, pepper, salmon are some other ingredients that can be used.


  • 500g ViaVio Mozzarella Sheet

  • 50g Parma ham

  • Rocket salad

  • Kakariki extra virgin olive oil

  • salt & pepper

  • 10/15 Tooth sticks


Start by laying out the mozzarella sheet on clear glad wrap. Spread the mozzarella sheet with a layer of Parma Ham, then add a layer of rocket. Add some salt pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.

Using the glad warp roll up tightly, remove the glad warp and leave to rest in the fridge for half an hour.

With a sharp knife slice into pieces sticking a tooth pick in each piece to hold them together.

Place on a serving plate and enjoy with your guest.
